E-Green Nigeria an environment project which is aimed at mobilizing communities, institutions, CSO, and Government bodies to embark on sustainable tree planting Campaigns with the ultimate aim of reducing the effects of carbon emission and combating desertification in Nigeria. The projects deployed technologies such as Remote sensing, mobile app, and data visualization to take an audit of tree planting campaigns facilitated by the project. It deployed technologies that will ensure remote monitoring of each tree planted and keeps tracks of the development of the trees Using a software invented by DD-Hub called Green Tracker.
In the first year, the project partners Bayero University Kano and Data crew to launch a campaign aimed at encouraging each member of the University to plant and take care of a minimum of a single tree within the Campus. The inception program tagged 1student 1tree BUK campus aimed at facilitating the plantation of a total of 3000 trees within the campus. Today the coordinator of the project and the Chief executive of Digital Development Hub Abdulganiyu Rufai with the Dean Faculty of Earth and Environmental science Bayero University Kano Prof. Adamu Idris Tanko and Yusuf A Yusuf, the CEO Data Crew unveiled the campaign around the project.
