Hackathon

DDHub Organizes an issue-based hackathon bringing IT professionals and other stakeholders to brainstorm and develop IT-based solutions to identified problems. In addition to an IT-based hackathon, we also organize policy hackathon in which we invite professionals and other stakeholders to brainstorm on a policy gap and develop a high thought policy suggestions to the problems. Some of the recent Hackathon event organized by DD Hub in partnership with our partners are;

CVE Hackathon: In partnership with Equal access international (American NGO working on peacebuilding and strategic communication), we organized a hackathon targeting viable tech-based solutions that can support in countering violent extremism bedeviling the northern part of Nigeria. We selected participants from across the 19 Northern states who engaged in critical thinking and brainstorming sessions to bring a CVE solution. At the end of the event, four of the solutions were identified as viable for and selected for incubation.

Nigeria IT Policy Hackathon: DD hub in partnership with Blue Sapphire hub and the Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency under the agencies of the …… held a one-day policy hackathon to review and make input into the Nigerian IT and Entrepreneurship policy.
